2010 and 2011 Catch Up

by Springmeadow Ranch on 01/27/12

To go along with the relaunch of our website, we present a summary of the past years at Springmeadow Ranch.

2010

  • Springmeadow welcomes Kamar Arabians (owned by Brittany & Lila Bartlett) to our ranch where they now reside.
  • March 17th Bint Bint Serabah and Serr Sotamm+ present us with a black bay filly named Sotamms Serrhita, named after our good friend Rhita McNair (McNair Internationale).
  • March 21st Kamar Arabians' Moulin Rouge Rou gives birth to a black bay filly, also sired by Serr Sotamm+ and named Laziza Kamar.
  • April 10th Springmeadow Masaarah presents us with 5 puppies sired by Ch. Springmeadow Jack Frost. The 5 include 1 smooth gold bitch, 1 smooth black tri dog, 1 smooth black and silver dog, 1 feathered fawn dog, and 1 feathered red dog. This will be known as our Spring Fling litter.
  • Also, April 10th, Elaine showed Kabiir Khayaal in Intro A & B Dressage at one of the Sienna Schooling shows. Kabiir Khayaal was also shown by trainer Kelli Lowery at the show. Sotamm's Anglo-Arab daughter, Sotamm It LetItGo, was shown by Brittany Bartlett.
  • Serr Sotamm+ and Kabiir Khayaal both qualify for the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals at different shows. Sotamm's trainer, Kelli Lowery, earned the final points for her bronze medal, all on Sotamm.
  • At the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals, Kabiir Khayaal went Top 5 in Training and First Level. Serr Sotamm went Top 5 in Second Level and Reserve Champion in Third Level.

2011

  • Ch. Issibaa's GoinForTheGold earned his grand champion title.
  • Springmeadow Ranch took several dogs to the National Saluki Specialty in Lexington, Kentucky for the first time in several years. Springmeadow's First Sighting took second in Sweepstakes, shown by Brittany Bartlett, and in the regular classes, shown by his owner/breeder, Elaine Yerty.
  • At the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals, Serr Sotamm+ went Reserve Champion in Third Level.
  • Springmeadow's Asuwish Gem won her first major at the Galveston Bay Saluki Club Specialty show weekend in November. Only one more major to go! She only needs another 5 points before she finishes!
  • Sotamm returned home for the first time since the start of his Dressage career. He is enjoying the time off and is very happy with all the mares in sight.
  • We survived the two very harrowing fires that both came within 5 miles of our barn. Texas had a record drought and the brown grass and empty ponds were a sight previoiusly unseen on the ranch.
